Our Proposal Video!
Safi’s Version: A friend of mine texted me that she thinks she had met my future husband at her neighborhood gathering. She told me about Jeremy and said he was great. I didn’t think anything of it and a few more months went by. I got another text and she said they set up a group date for us to meet. It was a bit of a blind date for both of us, and I was excited to meet someone new. I showed up to the cocktail bar, immediately ordered an old fashioned and asked if they could put the end of the Arizona basketball game on (Bear Down!). It probably was not the best first impression, but I was nervous. After a few cocktails we all made our way over next door for our dinner reservations. We started talking and realized we had a ton in common. At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the evening, but as we continued chatting, I found myself laughing and connecting with him like I hadn’t with anyone else before. I remember thinking to myself how comfortable I felt. By the end of the night, I was already thinking about how much I was looking forward to getting to know him better. I was so glad we met that night—everything just clicked! The rest is history, and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the amazing man he is. Jeremy’s Version: Four years ago, I moved from San Diego to Dallas, not knowing that life was about to change in the best way. Not long after, I went on a blind date and met Safi. I still remember sitting across from her, and within minutes, she was talking about whiskey, basketball, and cars. I remember thinking, Is she for real? It was love at first sight. And if you know how long I was single before that, you can probably imagine the collective sigh of relief from my friends and family. From the start, there was something special about her. But over time, I saw just how incredible she is—loyal, passionate, and always putting others first. She works hard, gives so much to the people she loves, and somehow still finds time to be an amazing cook. She’s also been ridiculously patient with me—teaching me how to wakesurf (which mostly meant wiping out) and showing me how to make kabobs (which mostly meant eating them). One of my favorite things about being with Safi is traveling together. Some of our best memories are from trips together and Puerto Rico—places that have become special to us over the years. She’s also made Dallas feel like home, and more than anything, she’s taught me to live with intent, enjoy every day, and never let opportunities pass by. And now, I get to spend forever with her!
Jeremy had planned a photo shoot for the two of us on our first day in Paris. I woke up that morning with hair and make-up showing up to the room. I definitely thought Jeremy was up to something! I was a nervous wreck the whole time, and pretty confident he was going to pop the question during the shoot. We move from one location to the next, just having the best time! It was very eventful (I even almost had my purse stolen but our photographer tackled him and got it back— long story, but a good one, make sure to ask us about it)! We finished up the shoot at our hotel, and our photographer thanked us for an awesome day. I looked at Jeremy and asked if we were done haha. He said “yup, let’s head up and get ready for dinner”. I was very confused! He then told me we were going to stop at a “speakeasy” before dinner. To my surprise he had rented the most beautiful private terrace over looking the Eiffel Tower. I knew it was coming as soon as I heard our favorite song playing. He proposed, and it was a dream come true!! We laughed, we cried, and it was perfect! We were both on cloud 9 the rest of the trip. I’m so excited to marry the love of my life!
