Steamboat is one of our favorite places to ski, and it was also where we took our first trip together in 2021!
We love your children but our wedding will only include guests who are 18 and over. We are happy to help connect you with babysitting resources if you plan to travel with your children.
It depends on how you plan to spend your time in Steamboat! If you stay near the ski resort, you will be within walking distance of our welcome party and will have shuttle transportation to the wedding. Ubers are fairly easy to get in Steamboat if you want to check out the main area of town. If you plan to hike or want to explore freely, then you might want a car. There is also a free transit system in Steamboat with routes throughout the day: https://www.steamboatsprings.net/166/Transit
We invite you to break out your western wear and embrace the vibe of Steamboat! Denim, bolo ties, hats, and boots encouraged. If western wear isn’t your thing, no problem. Please come in smart casual. The event will be mostly indoors with a large balcony for those wanting to take in the views. If you are looking for a beautiful handcrafted bolo tie or earrings, check out our friend’s brand: www.barebolo.com
If you are staying at the Steamboat Grand or the Sheraton, you will be a 3-6 minute walk away! Most vacation rentals will also be within walking distance or a very quick drive/bus ride. If you drive, you can pay to park at the Steamboat Square parking garage (4 min walk) or park for free in the Upper Knoll lot (8 min walk).
Yes! A buffet dinner will be served with options for any dietary restrictions.
Formal attire: Mid-to-long dresses, jumpsuits, and suits. Our wedding is on a ranch and will be mostly outdoors- we recommend a block or wedge heel for the grass. It will get chilly in the evening, so please bring a jacket or shawl to stay comfortable.
We will provide shuttles to and from the wedding venue. Shuttles will leave from various pickup points in Steamboat. We will collect lodging info when guests RSVP to ensure a pick-up spot near everyone's accommodations. Shuttles will also bring guests home after the wedding. The shuttles will run on a loop starting around 9:30pm for anyone who wants to go home a bit earlier. Please let us know in advance if you plan to drive to the wedding, but we recommend you take the shuttles and enjoy the night, responsibility-free!
It is Colorado, after all! If there is no active fire ban, there will be a designated area where guests over 21 can bring and consume cannabis. Please make sure you are respectful of the venue's guidelines: smoking only in the designated area, using the provided ashtrays, etc. If there is an active fire ban, guests are allowed to use vapes. Again, please be respectful as you consume!
There is no official after-party. You can expect the music to get a bit more rowdy after 10:30pm, and our reception will officially end at 11:45pm so that all guests can be off the property by midnight.
Steamboat averages in September are highs in the low 70s and lows in the mid-30s. However, Colorado weather can be very unpredictable! Make sure to bring layers and check the forecast before you come.
Although Steamboat is lower than most of the mountain towns in Colorado, the elevation is close to 7,000 feet above sea level. Make sure to drink lots of water (even before you arrive) and wear sunscreen. Also, remember that drinking alcohol at altitude can have much stronger effects. Take it easy on your first day and make sure to rest!
