Travel and Lodging Recs

The Wedding Website of Sadie Rose Glaspey and Patrick Dinnen
This info is great for our out of town guests AND also for our Chicago peoples. What we are really trying to drive home with all of this info is MAKE THIS PART as easy as humanly possible on yourself. If you dont need to drive, DONT. Take a cab, lyft, uber, the train. The city makes it easy, but you must take into account locations. If at all possible, we highly reccommend trying to stay somewhere either along the blueline OR close by the reception venue (which is in our neighborhood, Logan Square). Do whatever works best for you, but we hope we can help make the city as easy and accessible as possible for all.

Hotel

The Robey Chicago

2018 West North Avenue
Chicago, IL 60647
 (872) 315-3050

This is a small boutique hotel that just opened a little under a year ago. They will not let us reserve a block of rooms so if you are planning on staying here, book ASAP. I can only imagine it will grow in popularity as people get to know it is there. It is also one of the only actual hotels (with small roof top pool, multiple fun cocktail bars, and a restaraunt) that is extremely close to the reception venue. In fact- you can take the blueline (which runs almost up next to the hotel, so youre STEPS away) from The Robey straight to the reception venue (Logan Auditorium). Its a busy area, so plan on parking your car and leaving it OR not bringing a car. Parking can be the same if not more expensive than the rooms. They do offer valet, so if you dont mind paying, that service can be extremely convenient and maybe one of the only ways to comfortably park in the neighborhood if you arent planning to take cabs everywhere. This hotel is gorgeous. Highly recommend.

Train

The Blueline

The blueline train is part of Chicago's "L" train system. It runs from downtown all the way to ohare (and also in a different direction, but none of the wedding events are out that way). If you'd like to stay downtown, this is one of the ways you can get to the reception venue in Logan Square. You hop on at any of the stops along the way, choose the travel direction labelled "O'hare", and get off at the Logan Square stop. From there, it is a 5 minute walk, at the most, to the reception venue. You will need to purchase a fare card. Each ride costs $2.25. If you transfer between trains or a train and a bus, it is $.25. Fare cards can be purchased and any blueline station (or any other trainline).

House Or Rental

Airbnb

Airbnb.com is a home sharing website and app. We currently rent out two apartments on the website and love both sharing our building and also using airbnb as guests ourselves when we are traveling outside of Chicago. This option has the potential to be cheaper, possibly closer to the reception venue, and can be more comfortable depending on what your preferences are. There are a fair amount of airbnb offerings in our neighborhood and close by to the reception venue. This can be an especially good option if you are willing to get a bigger apartment or full building and share with other guests. You can also find spaces that are good for a few people. It is extremely versitile depending upon what you are looking for. We reccommend going onto the website or downloading the app and searching Chicago, Logan Square OR Chicago, Avondale. If you have any questions about safety of the neighborhood or convenience of the location, please contact us AND your potential airbnb host.

Flight

O'hare International Airport

If you need to fly in to Chicago for our wedding, we highly reccommend flying in to Ohare International Airport. It is directly (literally INSIDE the airport) off of the blueline train, which you can ride (for $2.25) almost directly to our reception venue. If your accomodations are in our neighborhood or close to the reception, this is also ideal. Most everything will be off of the Blueline train OR a short cab ride away from one of the stops. The other option you might see is to fly in to Midway Airport. Unless you know what you are getting into, we highly reccommend that you stick to Ohare. Midway can be tricky to get to and from if you are staying anywhere near our venue/neighborhood. Its a long drive, its an expensive cab ride, and a very long train ride that requires multiple transfers between trains and a bus.
