Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Sadie Shell and Wyatt Shifflett
We are so excited to celebrate with you! If you have some downtime during our wedding weekend, here are a few of our favorite local spots to explore in and around the beautiful Guntersville and Albertville areas.

Shopping in Downtown Guntersville

Guntersville, AL

Spend an afternoon strolling down Gunter Avenue to explore a wonderful mix of local boutiques, shoe stores, and specialty gift shops. Be sure to stop into Bakers on Main, a historic brick building that houses over 20 unique retail shops, a wine store, and a cafe all under one roof.

Guntersville City Harbor

301 Scott Street, Guntersville, AL 35976

This vibrant waterfront development is the perfect place to gather. It features a walkable boardwalk right on the lake with great restaurants, boutique shopping, and spots to grab a morning coffee or a sunset cocktail.

Stories on Broad

126 North Broad Street, Albertville, AL 35950

A beautifully cozy, family-owned bookstore and coffee shop located right in downtown Albertville. It's the perfect, warm spot to slow down, grab a delicious latte, and browse their curated shelves on a crisp late-November afternoon.

Lake Guntersville State Park

1155 Lodge Drive, Guntersville, AL 35976

The crown jewel of the area. This 6,000-acre park offers incredible views of the lake and woodlands, which look beautiful in late November. It features miles of hiking and biking trails, an 18-hole golf course, and horseback riding. Keep an eye out for the bald eagles that gather here in the winter!

Sunset Drive Walking Trail

Lake Drive, Guntersville, AL 35976

Located right in town, this paved, pedestrian-friendly path hugs the shoreline of the lake and wraps around the peninsula. It is the perfect spot for a scenic, flat, and leisurely morning stroll or to catch a classic North Alabama sunset without leaving the city.

Main Channel Brewing

210 Sand Mountain Drive, Albertville, AL 35950

Marshall County’s very first craft brewery and site of our first date! It’s a fantastic, laid-back spot to grab a local pint. They feature brews like their popular Amber Ale in a cozy taproom and serve incredible food from their restaurant, Hydrant City.

Jules J Berta Vineyards

1441 Darden Avenue, Albertville, AL 35951

Located just a short drive away on Sand Mountain, this award-winning winery is a must-visit. It features a beautiful, sprawling vineyard, a cozy tasting room, and a pet-friendly outdoor patio where you can enjoy locally produced Southern wines and delicious wood-fired pizzas.

Busted Oak Bourbon Society

111 East Main Street, Albertville, AL 35950

Tucked into the downtown entertainment district, this is a premium, cozy spot for whiskey and bourbon enthusiasts. It offers a great atmosphere to enjoy a handcrafted cocktail or a flight under the glow of twinkle lights.
