Our senior year in high school, I was sitting in criminal justice class and praying that God would send me the girl. Right after I prayed that prayer, Sadie walked into the room and I said God just answered my prayer. I asked her to be my girlfriend and she said no. But I wasn't going to give up so I asked her again, and she still said no. So I dated her best friend to spite her. After graduation God gave me another chance with her and I asked her to be my girlfriend...again. Steele asked me to be his girlfriend on February 14th, 2018 and I said yes despite being weeks away from my enlistment date. As those weeks progressed, Steele decided he would also join the Air Force and God worked everything out for us so that we would be able to go together. Steele left for basic training one week before I did and we spent the next 7 and 1/2 weeks communicating via letters. I told Steele I thought we should get married after graduation so that we could be based together, and I got a letter back that read "Will you marry me? Circle yes or no" and so on May 18th, 2018, just 3 months after we started dating - we eloped. I finally got her boys.
Steele and I had originally chosen a reception date of August 8th, 2020. But God had other plans, and truly I think it's because He knew we still needed to meet so many of you. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to finally have our "wedding" with all of you. But in addition to that, we had to live through more of our testimonies before we could be prepared for this moment with one another.
