Getting through the airport

At the airport: Fill out one Customs form per household. They should give you this form on your flight. Make sure you have a pen. Immigrations forms are no longer required. First stop after deplaning is Immigration. Hand the officer your passport(s). They might ask a couple questions such as where are you staying, how many nights will you be in Cabo, etc. Next stop is to pick up your checked bags if you have any. Grab your bags and proceed to the Customs line. When it is your turn, you will hand the officer your form. They may ask a couple questions such as are you bringing in any food, plants, animals, etc. (please don’t bring any of those things). If you are randomly selected they will scan your bag. If not, you are clear to exit the airport. The next part gets tricky! The whole next area of the airport, before you make it outside, is TimeShare people. They will act like they are there to help you find a taxi, or plan an excursion, or ask you other friendly questions. Don’t fall for it. Just proceed outside and go to the umbrella with the corresponding number for your transportation. Trust me, just get outside! Also, there’s a full bar outside! Find your transportation and proceed to the hotel. Now you’re officially on vacation!

Shuttle to and from the airport

To book a shuttle from the airport to the hotel, and back again to the airport, please use the link provided in this note (it’s in a different spot depending on if you’re viewing this on your phone or a PC.) *** PLEASE NOTE it is much easier to do your reservation via PC. Folks are having issues doing it via mobile. The transportation company is called Impala. They will be waiting for you outside in the transportation area, holding a sign that says "Impala Cabo". They will tell you which umbrella to meet them under as well. (You may also book through the hotel but from our experience, Impala is a much shorter wait, nicer vans, and more professional drivers. Whatever you do, taking a taxi is not recommended.) What you will see inside the website: You will see the company’s information, their phone numbers and email addresses in case anyone needs to reach them, and the transportation prices. Note from Impala: "To create a reservation, guests must follow these steps: Click: “Guest List” Click: “Add your information” Click: “submit” It is very important for guests to be specific in the number of passengers arriving and departing, as well as the type of service desired (private or shared shuttle). If for some reason assistance is needed during the reservation process, please feel free to contact us on the chat section (located on the bottom right side of the page), or by email transportation_services@impalacabo.com " Let Sadie know if you have any trouble booking, or if you have any questions. XOXO

Some notes about the hotel

At the hotel: Tips/gratuity are included in what you’ve already paid. But I think it’s nice to leave a couple bucks if someone does a great job. This is completely up to you. Every time you close your tab somewhere you sign an iPad type thing that says your room number. The total is always $0 since we’re all inclusive. But they still need your signature. At that point you can tip on the iPad or just hand them a dollar or two if you want but not at all required. Some people think if you tip a couple bucks when you get your first drink like at the pool, that you’ll get better service the rest of the day. I think you get good service regardless! This resort is HUGE! You take golf carts almost everywhere. No, you cannot drive the golf cart, they have dedicated drivers :). There are phones/landlines everywhere to call for a golf cart to come get you. In our experience, we never even had to call, because the carts were everywhere dropping people off and are very willing to take you where you need to go. Our advice, just HOLD ON TIGHT! We have never waited more than 5 minutes for a ride, but if you do need to be somewhere at a specific time, plan accordingly and add extra time for golf cart arrival. You are also welcome to walk, of course. The hotel has taxis waiting in line for guests' needs. If you wish to leave the resort, you will need to take a taxi. Just proceed to the lobby and they will wave over the taxi for you. Taxis usually only take cash, dollars or pesos are both fine. You cannot take an Uber from the hotel to anywhere, however you can take an Uber to return to the hotel. The hotel grounds are super secure and set quite a long drive back from the main road. There are 44 buildings that contain the hotel rooms (all suites and ocean facing), 6 pools, multiple bird and fish habitat exhibits, and too many bars and restaurants to list! (we love The Market) Enjoy!!!
