The Proposal - Her perspective

Tola surprised me to the point that i never expected it. I would have refilled my nails😂😂 But honestly.....So this is how it all happened! . Tola, had been talking about us going to see a Christmas🎄 light show since the beginning of December. The plan was to go see the Christmas light show, then go to dinner! . That particular day, i decided to eat less so that i could eat well at dinner🍽. So later that day we went to see the Prairie light show....which was beautiful to see..Half way during the show, i started to feel hungry so i told Tola that i was ready to leave. He kept on insisting that we should stay and enjoy the atmosphere and that we could get some hot chocolate☕️ or popcorn 🍿....(That's him trying to stall because my friends and family were still gathering together at the restaurant). I insisted on wanting to eat correct food at the restaurant. So he said okay. . So we got to the restaurant and he called and begged his brother to speak to me for 10 minutes in the car.. (Again, that was him trying to stall) But this time hunger was written all over my face and he could see it. So he took the phone back and we headed inside the restaurant. . We entered the restaurant, our waiter Sat us down, brought our drinks and said he would be back with our bread...i said okay! . . A few minutes later, Tola told me to look back, that our waiter had something for me. I Looked back and there was the waiter carrying a "will you marry me?" Sign.😱😭 While trying to process what was happening, Out of nowhere, my family and friends came out cheering us on! i can truly say i cried like a baby. And i eventually said yes to the man that found my heart . . By the way, at this point i wasn't hungry anymore. I was too happy😊

The Proposal - His Perspective

Sade had gone on a cruise to Bahamas and I started to think (and pray 🙏🏽) that Sade is what I have always wished and hoped for. Many thoughts went through my mind…I called my friend Ifeoluwa the next morning to tell him I'd be proposing to Sade at the airport when she gets back…but the time of day was an issue…Sade will be returning to Dallas early morning and I knew getting her Sister, Ola and friend Yeni there would be difficult, so I dropped the idea. Then something came to mind to propose at the Grand Prairie Light (a Christmas light show) So, the day before the D day, I went to check the GPL with Ifeoluwa, I spoke with the manager about my intentions to propose to my fiancée. Unfortunately, plans had to change again, Ola couldn’t make it to town in good time. Eventually, I decided to have dinner at Pappadeaux restaurant. I asked Ola, Yeni and Ifeoluwa to arrange with the manager to tell Sade that our reservation has been cancelled to get her upset and then offer to get us another seat to give more privacy. The plan was for Sade’s parents, siblings and friends to hide with Roses in their hands while we seat and wait for the Menu. The waiter would hold a placard “SADE WILL YOU MARRY ME” after giving us the Menu. Everything looked perfect on the D-day, but Sade's parents were behind schedule, so i had to make an impromptu call to my brother, Bola to speak and hold Sade on a phone conversation for as long as he could. As planned with my team, the waiter had a placard “SADE WILL YOU MARRY ME” after giving us the Menu. I called her attention to the placard saying "Babe, look..what is this? This was to distract her and allow me time to get the ring out and ask her to MARRY ME. By the time she looked back at me confused at seeing her name I was down on one knee asking “Sade, please will you marry me?“ By this time our family and friends had come out cheering us. Sade had uncontrollable tears of joy, I felt really elated because it was a dream come true.
