Question

What the heck is a 'wedding festival?'

Answer

Our wedding festival blends the love & joy of a wedding with the energy & freedom of a music festival! We’re also inviting our guests to help co-create the experience! If you feel called to contribute, check out our shared spreadsheet to see where you can lend a hand. 💛 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1myrP9HTlSfagKhMEp5Gln7Z3I8fdx94J1slJKUbqU48/edit?usp=sharing

Question

When & where is the wedding?

Answer

The actual wedding is on September 27 at Darrington Bluegrass Music Park. There will be a set-up/pre-party on September 26, and anyone who would like to come help is welcome!

Question

So, what should I expect?

Answer

While we will have a short, intentional ceremony to exchange our vows, we’re skipping the traditional wedding formalities—no wedding party, set dinner, assigned seating, first dance, or speeches. Instead, we’re creating a weekend of music, community, and self-expression in nature—featuring DJ sets, dancing, creative outfits, and space to celebrate love in a way that feels authentic and connected. You’re invited to camp with us for the night or find your own nearby accommodations—whatever feels best for you!

Question

Are food/drinks provided?

Answer

We’ll have some non-alcoholic drinks available, and a food truck available if you'd like to support a small business and purchase food. That being said, we encourage everyone to bring your own food/snacks and beverages! Please note: We lovingly request that alcohol be kept to a minimum as we want to keep this a very intentional, safe, and conscious experience for all.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

"Come as you are!" Dress in a way that feels fun and expressive—whether that’s festival attire, something flowy. (Rachel likes the idea of "upstage the bride") Basically, wear whatever makes you feel amazing!!

Question

Will there be seating for the ceremony?

Answer

There will be some seating available, but we encourage you to bring your own camping chair if you'd like to ensure a comfortable spot during the short ceremony.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Yes! Bring your little ones - we'd love to dance and play with them. There will be some child-friendly activities too!

Question

Can I camp on-site?

Answer

Yes! Camping is available on-site. We will be camping and we would love for many of our beloved friends & family to camp with us. There are also nearby Airbnbs and hotels if camping isn’t your vibe!

Question

Are there other lodging options?

Answer

There are nearby Airbnbs and hotels if camping isn’t your vibe. We’ll share recommendations soon!

Question

Is there alcohol?

Answer

You are welcome to bring your own drinks, however, we lovingly request that alcohol be kept to a minimum as we want to keep this a very intentional, safe, and conscious experience for all.

Question

Are there bathrooms?

Answer

Yes! There will be plenty of portable toilets and handwashing stations available on-site.

Question

Are there water refill stations?

Answer

Yes! We’ll have water fill-up stations, but we recommend bringing your own reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.

Question

Will there be a music lineup?

Answer

Yes! We’re having close friends DJ throughout the event to create an unforgettable experience. We likely will not be announcing the lineup prior to the wedding date.

Question

How can I contribute to the experience?

Answer

We want this to be a community feel! Bring whatever feels resonant to you to share with others. Whether it’s art, flow toys, lights, or a unique talent—let us know if you’d like to bring something special to share. Please check out our Community Spreadsheet to fill in gaps where it feels aligned: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1myrP9HTlSfagKhMEp5Gln7Z3I8fdx94J1slJKUbqU48/edit?usp=sharing

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Unless it is a given, please check in with us prior to bringing a plus one that we may not yet know. We want to keep this a very intentional loving community space.

Answer

-BYO camping chair if you'd like to sit during the short ceremony -Food/snacks for yourself -Comfortable shoes for dancing -Warm layers (it may get chilly at night) -Camping gear (if staying on-site) -Your best energy!
