We’d love for our guests to dress to impress! Black Tie Optional means a tuxedo or formal suit and tie for gentlemen, and a long gown, dressy cocktail dress, or chic evening attire for ladies. In short: think elegant and festive — but wear whatever makes you feel your best for a night of celebration.

We’re tying the knot at Shepherd’s Hollow, and we’d be honored to have you with us for every moment of this day we’ve been dreaming about. Our outdoor ceremony begins at 5:30 PM, surrounded by towering pines, fresh air, and all the love that brought us here. Right after the “I do’s,” wander over to the outdoor covered terrace for cocktail hour from 6–7 PM—sip something delicious, enjoy a bite (or two), mingle with our favorite people, and take in the beautiful view together. (Pro tip: dress for the weather—Michigan loves a dramatic entrance.) At 7 PM, the celebration continues with an indoor reception filled with everything we love most: dinner, a live band, an open bar, photobooth and eventually… a late-night snack and DJ to keep your dance-floor energy going strong as we close out the night.
