Quintessential New England village famous for its deep, working harbor bustling with fishing boats and scenic cruises, surrounded by waterfront restaurants, charming shops, and coastal Maine beauty.
Largest botanical garden in New England, offering over 300 acres of diverse, highly-curated gardens, woodland trails, and a tidal saltwater shoreline, famously featuring hidden, giant wooden troll sculptures. P.S. This was really cool and a lot larger than we expected (and tested George's map reading skills...only got slightly lost). Expect to spend at least an hour and a half here.
Cap'n Fish's Cruises offers the original and most experienced whale watching and puffin tours in the Mid-Coast Maine region, alongside scenic cruises that feature seals, lighthouses, and lobster trap hauling from Boothbay Harbor. P.S. We did a 1 hour and 15 minute Lighthouse and Seal Tour and really enjoyed it. Seeing Boothbay Harbor from the water was beautiful, the tour included some narration which taught us more about the area and we got to see a good amount of seals and a few porpoise.
Amazing Italian food in the heart of Boothbay Harbor. The food was great although portions were on the smaller side so would recommend ordering an appetizer. They are only open for dinner. Self-Proclaimed "Best Italian Restaurant in the US"
