How we met William's version

I first met Sabrina at a young adult ultimate frisbee group, and I was immediately pulled in by her stunning good looks and charming personality. I introduced myself and promptly blew out my knee to impress her. After a harrowing first date in which I almost fell down a flight of stairs with my crutches and crushed her, she fortunately and very graciously asked me on our second date, where I sat in a park and watched her run around unsuccessfully trying to fly a kite. Many of our early conversations consisted of her talking about her vegan diet and me talking about barbecue, but we quickly realized that sometimes kindred spirits don’t have to eat the same food. We found common ground in our large homeschooled families, archaic pop culture references, and taste in music. Before long, she agreed to be my girlfriend and the rest is history

How we met Sabrina's version

I remember the day I first saw William. It was a warm June evening in 2021. I sat on the sidelines at Eleanor Tinsley park at my routine Monday ultimate frisbee meetup. As I surveyed the field for a good looking man, (another routine) I surprisingly saw one. William was running around on field wearing a yellow AYC t-shirt and black shorts .I leaned over to my roommate and said “hey, that one’s not too bad.” Thus began my initial attraction towards William. My regard towards William grew immensely after one frisbee meet up when he asked me about my cat. A couple weeks later after watching a guy flirt with me at frisbee (the same guy later barreled into William which caused him to tear his ACL, MCL, and a little chunk of his meniscus), William finally asked me out! Our first date was very different from any first date I've ever been on (and trust me I've been on a lot) It was hard, (and at times impossible), to walk together on the sidewalk because William was on crutches. It was also very difficult for him to open all the doors for me without wobbling or dropping his crutches. My favorite part of the date was when we had run out of things to say. William's remedy for this lull in the conversation was grabbing his glass of water and saying “You know, I just really love water!!” and taking a big gulp. Oof. Somehow despite our first date being a little gauche, I knew 100% I wanted to see him again (perhaps it was his insistence on opening doors for me at the risk of plummeting to the concrete). After waiting a full 24 hours I asked him out again. After three dates he asked me to be his girlfriend. I said no because I thought it was too fast. 1 week later I changed my mind. We quickly bonded over veggie tales, ubbi dubbi, camping, hiking and niche family traditions. 7 months into dating I asked when we were gonna get married.
