Question

1. What if I don't have Indian clothing, what should I wear?  Where do I buy Indian dresses?

Answer

Traditional Indian clothing is not required. Just wear something nice, colorful, and seasonally appropriate. But if you do want to buy Indian clothing you can visit a saree shop or general Indian clothing shop near you and they will guide you in picking what is most appropriate for the occasion and finding you something that fits just right.

Question

What is the significance of Mehndi?

Answer

Mehndi has three main purposes. The first is that it is a symbol of luck for the marriage and the wedding day. The second is that the actual henna paste is cooling and contains healing herbs, all ideal for soothing a bride before her big day. Lastly, it's simply become ingrained as a tradition not only in the wearing of the mehndi but also in the application of it as part of the wedding events.

Question

What is the Puja and what etiquette should I follow while its being completed?

Answer

The Puja is a prayer ritual preformed in Hinduism. It is done for many reasons ranging from daily observance to (like in this case) large life events like an engagement. Not much is expected of you as a guest other than being respectful and polite.

Question

What kind of food will there be?

Answer

We are having fusion style catering. We wish to highlight the multi-cultural influences in Sabrina and Pieter's lives. Therefore, there fill be Indian-influenced dishes in addition to Dim Sum, Turkey and late night Tacos!

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

San Diego is a big area and while things may seem close, traffic can be rough. So we would recommend staying as close as possible to the Del. This means trying to stay in the Coronado area or near downtown San Diego.

Question

Is the event indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The venue space is indoors overlooking the ocean. It is a beautiful space that will give us plenty of room to dance the night away!

Question

What about COVID concerns?

Answer

Masks will be available as you enter the Ocean Ballroom. The room is large enough for 600 people, but we anticipate only 1/3 capacity, so there will be plenty of space and ventilation. We are using tables accustomed to seating 10 people and plan for 8 to a table.

Question

Is there a Registry?

Answer

We are thrilled that you are taking the time, cost, and effort to join us in our celebration. Your presence is our present! All we request from you is your blessings and to have fun with us.

Question

What is the parking situation? Do I have to pay?

Answer

No! You do not have to pay! Please be sure to pick up a sticker that will be distributed by our planning team at the event. There will be a different sticker depending on if you used the valet or decided to self park. When exiting the self park structure or picking up from the valet you will return your ticket with the sticker that will indicate to them they you are not to be charged.
