The Wedding Website of Sabrina Hashmi and Mehrdad Abedinzadeh
Question

What is the address for the wedding venue?

Answer

Calamigos Ranch - The Pavilion 327 Latigo Canyon Rd. Malibu, CA 90265

Question

Does it count if I verbally told one of your parents or someone else that I can or can’t attend?

Answer

NO! Please do not use word of mouth as your RSVP and meal selection, no matter who you told. The website organizes and notes everyone’s RSVP and food choices to make sure that correct information is given to our venue and caterer. If you’re having difficulty being RSVPing on the website, please send an email to sabrinaandmehrdad@gmail.com with your name and any questions.

Question

Can I still attend if I didn’t give my RSVP response in time?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. If we do not receive your RSVP by the deadline, then we will NOT be able to add you in later. We can’t be flexible on this because of certain requirements by the venue. Please make sure to respond timely so we can celebrate with you!

Question

If I cannot attend, do I still need to respond to the RSVP from your wedding invite?

Answer

Yes, please. If you will not be able to attend, please still let us know by marking “will not be attending” when you RSVP on the website. We of course will miss you but also know not everyone can make it and hope to find another time to celebrate with you soon!

Question

I have several family members included on my wedding invite. Do I respond for each of us? And what about each of our meal choices?

Answer

If you have more than one person included on your invitation, you can type the name of any person from your group when RSVPing on this website and it will pull up all of the guests from your invitation. You will be able to respond for each person from your invitation, as well as make the meal selection for each person.

Question

Do I need to mail anything after I’ve RSVP’d on the website?

Answer

Nope! Once you have submitted your RSVP with meal choice on this website you should be all set. Make sure to make any travel, hotel, or car rental reservations you may need if you are traveling from far to join us!

Question

What are the meal options?

Answer

Each guest can pick from 1 of 3 choices (chicken, beef, or vegetarian) on their RSVP: (1) Halal Chaat Masala Roasted Chicken Breast (Gluten Free) with curry lime crispy potatoes, curried cauliflower, and cilantro chutney OR (2) Halal Grilled London Steak (Gluten Free) with aleppo whipped potatoes, crispy leeks, and buttered beef jus reduction OR (3) Rigatoni Pasta (Vegetarian) with charred rapini, melted tomato sugo, roasted garlic, crumbs, and pecorino romano There will also be appetizers available during the cocktail hour before the reception. Please note that anyone under the age of 4 will not receive a plated meal during the reception.

Question

Are any of the meal options halal?

Answer

Yes! All meat dishes served at this event are halal. We worked with the caterer to ensure all meat that is used is 100% halal.

Question

Can I change the meal I picked on my RSVP?

Answer

You can change your selection only up to the April 30th deadline for RSVPs. After that date, unfortunately the choice you selected on your RSVP cannot be modified.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

You can only bring the people on your invitation. If no one else is listed then unfortunately you will not be able to bring another guest with you.

Question

Can I bring my kids or other family members that weren’t included on my invitation?

Answer

Only if they were included on your invite! If they were not then unfortunately, no. Although we wish we could invite everyone, only the specific people listed in your invitation are included as an invited guest. Due to certain venue constraints, we may not have been able to accommodate all family members (including kids). We appreciate your understanding and hope to celebrate with all the people we love and cherish again when we have the ability!

Question

What airport should I fly into if I’m coming from out of town?

Answer

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The commute to Malibu (or nearby areas) from LAX can be anywhere from 50 minutes to 1.5 hours. For this reason it’s recommended to reserve a rental car for your visit, however Uber and Lyft are also available.

Question

How soon should I book my accommodations?

Answer

As soon as possible! The wedding is taking place on Labor Day weekend, in the summer, close to the beach, in Southern California, and while kids are on break from school. Hotels and Airbnbs will book up fairly quickly (and rates will get higher) as the wedding date approaches. Check out the Travel tab on this website to see info on the hotel block and other nearby hotels to make reservations. Please be mindful that Los Angeles is very big and spread out. If you are looking at accommodations further away from the venue and the recommended nearby hotels, make sure to account for commute time with traffic. Remember in LA standard traffic, 30 miles does not equal 30 minutes…

Question

How come the standard rate for Hyatt Regency Westlake is lower or higher than hotel block rate?

Answer

The hotel block only locks in the rate at the time that the hotel block is set up (so the hotel rates could go up or down from that price over time but the block rate remains the same).

Question

Is breakfast included in my hotel reservation if I used the hotel block at Hyatt Regency Westlake?

Answer

No. While breakfast is available at the hotel for an additional cost, this cost is not already included in your reservation unless you paid additional for a bed and breakfast package at the time of booking. If you are unsure what is included in your reservation, please contact your hotel directly with your reservation information.

Question

Is the wedding outdoors?

Answer

Yes and no. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors and given the time of year it may be warm outside so please dress comfortably for the weather. The reception will be held indoors with easy access to still go in and out to the outdoor area.

Question

What attire is required for the wedding?

Answer

Since this is a mixed cultural wedding, please feel free to wear wedding attire appropriate for either an American, Persian, or Pakistani/Desi weddings! That includes suits, dresses, sherwanis, lehengas, sarees, shalwar kameez, etc. No color is off limits!

Question

How early can I arrive to the venue?

Answer

Guests will be allowed in starting at 5 pm. The venue will still be setting up if you arrive too early.

Question

What time do I really need to arrive at Calamigos Ranch for the wedding?

Answer

Please arrive to Calamigos Ranch between 5-5:15 pm! This is not a Desi/Persian time estimate!!! You may not be allowed entry for the ceremony if you arrive later than 5:15 pm as it will begin promptly by 5:30 pm. We kindly request your courtesy to please be prompt and consider commute time from your hotel or other accommodations to ensure on time arrival.

Question

Is there parking at the wedding venue?

Answer

Yes! Valet is included (free!) with the venue and is available on site.

Question

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Answer

Yes, but please do not ask the photographers to take photos for you from your phone or device. They will be taking professional photos throughout the night with their own cameras.

Question

Will there be food during the cocktail hour?

Answer

There will be appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks available.

Question

What kind of music will there be at this wedding?

Answer

Mixed! We are celebrating both Persian and Pakistani backgrounds - so we will be playing a fusion of music from both cultures, as well as American music! We hope that you all will join in on the dancing and fun as we bring our families, friends, and cultures together!

Question

Is there alcohol being served at the wedding?

Answer

No. This is a dry wedding for religious reasons and there is no alcohol being served. There are signature drinks that will be available during the cocktail hour that are “mocktails” and contain absolutely no alcohol. Sodas, iced and hot tea, coffee, and water will also be available.

Question

What time does the wedding end?

Answer

11 pm
