How it all started

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act. -Psalm 37:5

About 7 years ago, Kevin and I were both entering our first year at our current jobs as FOCUS missionaries. We both felt the Lord opening our heart to mission work on the college campus, so we packed our bags and headed for a month long training down in South Florida. We crossed paths once or twice but Kevin was pretty hard to forget after being known to everyone one as "first year Kevin." After that first training we both went our separate ways. Kevin serving with FOCUS in the north at Ohio University and Central Connecticut, then moving to FOCUS Europe serving in Vienna, Austria for 3 years. Myself, being a true southerner, staying in the south at Georgia Southern University then to The University of Florida.  When Kevin decided to move back to the US, our 6th year, he got placed in Texas and at this time is when we really reconnected. Over the first couple of months, we would see each other at work things we were both required to be at, having a small conversation here and there. In December, we were both on a retreat and this is when Kevin really noticed me - his words, not mine. From that moment he knew the next time he saw me, he was going to ask me on a date. Lucky for him, it was 10 just days away! Seek, FOCUS' national conference that happens every January, is a 5-day conference where over 20,000 Catholics come together to hear talks and praise God in Mass and Adoration. It is the busiest time to be a missionary and of course the only time we could go on dates in person, so we went on three. After those three dates we continued going on long distance dates. If any of you guys out there need advice on long distance dating, ask Kevin, he really hit it out of the park. We officially started dating in February, and in March he asked me to go to Europe with him because one of his old teammates was getting married in July. Thank you, Alexandra! Our first stop was in Rome, and right in front of the Vatican is where he asked me to be his wife. God’s hand has been so evident in every step of our relationship. From when we were living in different countries to the moment he asked me to be his wife. Our lives, our story has slowly been coming together to bring us to this very moment where on May 10th I will have the honor of calling myself Kevin’s wife. We want you to pray for us along the way! The Lord has done amazing things for both Kevin and me. We hope to continue to do His Will in our next chapter together.
