Hi everyone, We have some important news to share, and it is not easy to find the right words. After a lot of thought and many conversations, we’ve made the difficult decision to move our wedding from Mexico to the San Antonio, TX area. We were so excited to celebrate in Mexico, but with the current unrest and uncertainty there, we don’t feel comfortable asking our family and friends to travel into a situation that may not be stable. Your safety and peace of mind matter more to us than any location. We truly apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. We know many of you were already making plans, and we are incredibly grateful for the love and support you’ve shown us 🫶 While the setting will be different, what matters most hasn’t changed. We still get to stand in front of the people we love and promise our lives to each other. We’re looking forward to celebrating closer to home, surrounded by all of you, and making this day just as meaningful and joyful as we first imagined ✨ Thank you for understanding and for being part of our story. We can’t wait to celebrate together in San Antonio 💕 Stay tuned for more details. -Sabrina & Josh

I was in charge of spreading the word of a recreational volleyball league and recruiting co-workers at Caterpillar. Josh sent me a message introducing himself and wanting to join the team... I almost forgot to add him to the roster, but he reminded me at the last second! On the court, I was impressed by Josh’s competitiveness as he unnecessarily threw himself on the sand in order to keep the ball in play. He also cracked jokes and was overall a really fun presence! He definitely got my attention… As it turned out, Josh and I started eating lunch and hanging out with our friend and co-worker Liz, and discovered that we all had a lot in common — the three of us decided to be roommates! After 5 months of friendship, scary movies and living together, Josh asked me if I wanted to start dating him.
Around December of 2023, I began looking for the perfect ring and planning a marriage proposal where both of our families could be there to make the moment even more special. We planned a March trip to the beach in Mazatlán (where our wedding will be), so that would have been the perfect time… if the ring had not gotten lost in the mail! Luckily, it was insured so I was able to get another one, but not before the beach trip. The next time our families could be all together was for my birthday in August 2024 since my brother would visit from South Carolina. But Sabrina’s dad had surgery on his shoulder in Mexico and had to rest there for 2 months. The next chance would be Thanksgiving in November while visiting my brother. I looked for beautiful parks where we could go on a hike and I could ask the question… but then hurricane Helene decided to make a mess and the parks closed! Eventually, I found a pretty riverwalk area on the Savannah River with a bridge connecting the states of South Carolina and Georgia. On November 29 of 2024, we all walked to the river, crossed the bridge and prepared to take photos of the sunset. I asked Sabrina to take a photo with me but she would not stop hugging me because she was so cold! I tried to move but she refused let go, so I just asked her to look at the buildings by the river for 5 seconds. She finally let go to look at the buildings, I took a knee, pulled the ring out and when she turned, I asked her to marry me.
