WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

We met when Casey’s parents celebrated their anniversary at Black Angus. I was a bartender at the time, and it was unusual for me to wait on tables. As his family walked by the bar to be seated, Casey noticed me making a mojito and stopped, looked me dead in the eye, and told me that those were his favorite. I had only just learned to make this particular drink, so when I dropped off his family's drinks, I brought him a mojito... only to later realize that I had completely forgotten to add the simple syrup due to the nervous butterflies that had taken over my entire body in response to meeting this intriguing man. As his family was leaving, he hung back and handed me a little piece of paper he had written his number on. Casey and I dated for nine months before we broke up, and over the years we would reconnect, but it never seemed to be the right time. Flash forward to July of 2018. I was living in Colorado while attending Colorado State University but was home in California for Summer break. One day my sister Charity convinced me to go to the mall with her and her baby Austin, which, at the time, was one of my least favorite places to hang out. I was walking out of Bath and Body Works when I LITERALLY almost slammed into Casey. He was out of breath and wide eyed. For the second time he stared me straight in the eye and said, "Hi." I was in shock. It had been six years since the last time we had seen each other or even spoken. We made plans to go get coffee the next day, and two weeks later we were at the Mission Inn when he got down on one knee and proposed. Over a decade ago, God imprinted our hearts with the others name, because He made us for each other. So few people get a second chance with their soulmate, but God had a plan for us that was so much better than anything we could have ever planned for ourselves.
