It all began in June 2024, when Sabrina and her friend came to visit New York. On the evening of June 4th, around 9:30 PM, I got a text from my friend Isabel asking if I could say hi to a German sister visiting the state. I was already in my pajamas and not exactly in “host mode,” but we agreed to a FaceTime call instead. We chatted briefly, and just before we hung up, I invited her and her friends over for a meal—just a simple gesture of hospitality to make their visit to Wallkill more memorable. I hoped they’d return to Germany with warm stories to share. Fast forward to Saturday, June 8th. Sabrina and her friends were waiting in the main lobby. When I saw her, I was genuinely struck by her beauty—but that was it (or so I told myself 😄). As we walked toward the Wallkill firehouse, I noticed something: we were deep in conversation, just the two of us, while the rest of the group trailed behind. It felt... different. And I liked it. After touring the firehouse and the kitchen, we all headed to my place for dinner. It turned out to be a truly enjoyable evening. That night, I began to notice some of Sabrina’s beautiful qualities—ones that quietly captured my attention. A few days later, on June 11th, we started texting. About 40 minutes in, I asked if I could call her. That call—two hours long—was a glimpse into who she really was. When we hung up, we both felt a connection. Not Verizon or T-Mobile... something deeper. On June 14th, around 10 or 11 PM, I asked her out. That night marked the beginning of an astronomical adventure. Over the past year, we’ve faced the usual challenges that come with a long-distance relationship, but through it all, we’ve grown stronger—supporting each other, building trust, and choosing to move forward together. Then in May 2025, we got engaged in her favorite country: Cameroon. 🇨🇲 Now, we’re thrilled to say, “I do,” and we can’t wait to share this next chapter with all of you.
