Liberty State Park

Guess what? The Statue of Liberty belongs to BOTH New Jersey and New York, although the island is in New Jersey waters Best access (and closest too) if from NJ Liberty State park. You can also get there from NY Battery Park, but it is often crowded there and the ferry does not bring you as close as the NJ side.
