Question

What documents do I need to travel to Mexico?

Answer

All you need is your passport! We also recommend downloading the Mobile Passport Control app to speed things up at the airport: https://www.cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/mobile-passport-control - You do NOT need a visa to travel to Mexico unless you are staying for more than 180 days. - If you have global entry, your physical card is not required as long as you added it to your flight booking. - REAL IDs are not required until May 2025 and only apply to domestic travel. Your passport will suffice.

Question

Do I need to fill out an FMM?

Answer

No, as of 2025 you no longer need to complete the FORMA MIGRATORIA MULTIPLE (FMM) document if you are flying into Cancun International Airport (CUN) or the following airports: Cozumel International Airport (CZM) Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) Mexico City International Airport (MEX) If you are not a US citizen, please double check requirements.

Question

How do I get to the resort from the airport?

Answer

If you booked your stay through Paradise Weddings, you should have been given the option to add transportation to your booking. Regardless, you may reach out to guests@paradiseweddings.com who can arrange your ride for a fee. You can also book a private ride that fits your needs here: https://www.viator.com/Playa-del-Carmen-tourism/d5501-r1224856032781824-s42519460 PLEASE NOTE: Use caution when booking rides or taking taxis. For your safety and convenience, we recommend booking a NON-STOP car service from the airport to the resort.

Question

Do I need pesos or cash?

Answer

Credit cards are widely accepted, but there are still instances where you may need cash or pesos. For credit card use, we recommend using a travel card with no foreign exchange fees if you have one. We recommend bringing some cash in small bills to use for tips, taxis, and excursions. Frequent travelers recommend using bank ATMs to get pesos, as some merchants can charge a hefty "convenience fee" for converting to pesos from USD. When converting to pesos, stick to 20s, 50s, 100s, and 200s, and avoid 500s or higher, as most places won't accept these.

Question

How will we communicate if I don't have an international phone plan?

Answer

We highly recommend that everyone downloads WhatsApp so that we can reach people whether they're using cell service or WiFi. This is how we'll send updates and coordinate activities throughout the trip.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

While there are plenty of places to shop near the resort, here's a quick list of things you may not want to forget: - Swimsuits, water shoes, cover-ups - Toiletries including toothbrush, face & body care, menstrual products - Chargers for electronics (no wall adapter necessary) - A comfortable change of shoes or sandals for the wedding reception - Walking shoes/sneakers - A couple "going out" outfits - just in case! - Medications (put these in your carry on to be safe, and make sure any prescription drugs are allowed to cross the border) - Sunglasses & hats - A small crossbody bag or fanny pack for money & personal items - Airtags for luggage & personal bags

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

We only ask that you do NOT wear white to the wedding. Other than that, as long as you look and feel good, we're here for it! It's going to be hot and sunny, so avoid thick materials and unnecessary layers. We have no problem with short sleeve shirts!
