Michelle and Chris are getting hitched!

We met on July 16, 2016 in Austin at a bar. I guess bars are where the best love stories start! My friend bumped into Chris and brought him over to meet us. I could tell he was smart because he saved the best greeting for last- me. Chris was a gentleman and did something most men don't do anymore, he bought my drinks all night! We danced all night and laughed at each others jokes, dad jokes from Chris and sarcasm from me. Both of us had never been to that bar before and Chris says it's clear that he had never been to a clothing store before, based on what he was wearing that night. Thankfully I put his baggy jeans and tight, v cut, purple t shirt in the back of my mind and agreed to go on a date with Chris. Nothing like bowling, beers, and arcade games to reveal how competitive you both are and who is athletic (Chris) and who is clumsy (me). We were seeing each other for about 3 months but ultimately wanted different things. We were young and dumb... we've all been there. Chris and I believe, “If it's meant to be, it will be." Que Sera, Sera. Whatever will be, will be. Fast forward to a year later, October 6, 2017. We ran into each other at ACL Music Festival. Maybe it was the live music and good vibes, maybe the timing was finally right, or maybe it was because we couldn't stop staring at each other... we just knew. We must be meant to be and the rest is history! In 4 years we have helped each other move in/out of 4 apartments and during a worldwide pandemic we moved in together. We survived quarantine/lockdown without killing each other or our crazy neighbor (that's another story for another day). We bought a beautiful home, adopted a cute, derpy dog named Twix, and got engaged in Jamaica! If you've read this far then you must really love us, wow! It starts with a game time decision... and getting the ring 8 hours before our flight to Jamaica took off. But let's rewind to about 4 months earlier. Michelle gave me ideas and thoughts on what was going to make the most perfect dream ring (she may have had to show me more than a few times) and due to the time it was going to take to have the ring created I was left in the dark about when or how the ring was going to be created. I got a call 8 hours before our flight to Jamaica from the Jeweler. Michelle had absolutely no expectation or thought that I even had the ring because the Jeweler explained ring creation times extended over 6 months and "there was no way Chris would ever think to bring that ring to a poverty stricken country". But as the story goes I did, better judgement aside, because I couldn't wait to finally call Michelle my Fiancé. I quickly realized that proposing to Michelle was not going to be as easy as I thought, with everyone at the Jamaican resort working on "island time". All you have to know is when they tell you they will be there for something at a certain time, just add another 2 hours. After trying two times to propose on the scenic beach with a photographer capturing the surprise moment, the timing was not matching up with what we agreed on. I had to improvise and grab the closest photographer walking the beach at the resort and explained the game plan. I made the "game time" decision to propose to the love of my life oceanside in paradise! Although the actual moment escapes me I am sure my speech I gave to her went well. Because of nervousness I almost put the ring on the wrong finger and SHE SAID YES! The month of September will forever be my favorite month for the rest of my life because we got engaged on September 4, 2021. And of course my Birthday will be on our wedding date, September 9th! I love you Michelle with all my heart and lets get hitched!!
