No. Carry another type of ID or a copy of your passport with you and leave the original document at the hotel/Airbnb.
You’ll come across street vendors in the historic walled city and on some beaches. They can be annoying but they are part of the local scene. If you’re not interested, politely decline and mention that you don’t carry cash. DO NOT accept free samples. If you do, they will harass you for payment forever.
