Broadturn Farm has plenty of space for cars, and cars can be left overnight. We will provide a bus that fits about 50 people at the end of the night to take us into downtown Portland. It is also possible to get an Uber or taxi to/from the venue. Broadturn Farm is about 15-20 mins away from downtown Portland.
Sadly, weddings produce an average of 400lbs of trash, so in an attempt to be more Earth friendly we are doing our best to cut down on the waste (Broadturn Farm also makes this a priority for their events). We will be composting food scraps, avoiding anything that comes wrapped in plastic, staying away from glitter and plastic decorations, repurposing, printing on recycled paper, etc. We ask that our guests avoid wrapping paper by either bringing unwrapped gifts, or getting creative by using news papers, old fabric, or whatever you have on hand. Shipping directly to the house is also welcome!
Broadturn Flower Farm is an organic, family run farm just outside of Portland. In 2004, the Scarborough Land Trust purchased and forever preserved the 434 acre Meserve Farm. In the fall of 2006, John Bliss and Stacy Brenner became tenants at the Farm, which they renamed Broadturn Farm. They do flowers for many of the weddings around Maine, and are well known in the community for their beautiful arrangements. You can pick up one of their bouquets at Forage Market in downtown Portland.
