Jason and Erin's story started on a random Friday night out in Downtown San Diego. The two met at a bar named The Tipsy Crow while Jason was out celebrating his last day with his coworkers. Erin arrived later with a couple coworkers from her new job and had only moved to San Diego two months prior. We can thank Jason's coworker for taking an interest in Erin's coworker and inviting them over to meet the rest of the gang. Both groups chatted but eventually Jason's group left. It turned out that they would later run into each other that night on the streets of San Diego and invited Jason to continue the rest of the night with them. It's a debate on who put in the work to make the first move happen. Erin will say she was trying to make Jason notice her the whole night. In the end, Jason was the one who asked for the number exchange and now here we are!

Jason proposed to Erin on December 19, 2020 on the balcony of their hotel room at the Blue Lantern Inn in Dana Point, CA. It was sunset, with a glass of wine, overlooking the harbor, and just the two of them. It was exactly how Erin would have wanted it. The Inn was always a special place to both of them as they had seen it on a trip with Jason's parents early in the relationship. Erin mentioned that "one day we will be able to stay there". 2020 was a tumultuous year for every one across the globe. Erin was laid off of two different jobs due to the pandemic. Jason planned the night for them to just relax and get away, even if it was only an hour away from home. It was the perfect way to end a rough year.
