Things To Do

Here are some activities & restaurants we recommend in Chicago

Architecture Boat Tour

This is the best way to see downtown Chicago & its beautiful architecture! We recommend this 90-minute tour through Wendella.

Cubs Game

The Cubs play the Cardinals on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday afternoon of our wedding weekend. We recommend heading to Wrigleyville early and having a drink at one of the nearby bars like Cubby Bear or Murphy’s Bleachers.

Lakefront Trail

The lakefront is great for walking, biking (shared bikes available through Divvy), or just spending some time outdoors. From the hotels, we recommend accessing the trail via the Oak Street entrance & heading northward.

Green City Market

This farmers market is open Saturday from 7am-1pm. This would be a great starting point Saturday morning before exploring other nearby attractions (such as the Lincoln Park Conservatory or Lincoln Park Zoo).

Neighborhood Exploration

One of our favorite things to do in Chicago is explore the different neighborhoods. A few we recommend visiting are Andersonville, West Loop, and of course Wicker Park (where we live)! • Andersonville: Clark St between Foster & Ardmore • West Loop: Randolph St/Fulton Market between Halsted & Morgan • Wicker Park: Division St/ Milwaukee Ave between Paulina & Damen

Dining Out

Chicago is one of the best food cities in the country (although we might be a bit biased)! Sabel's favorite restaurant is Aba (Mediterranean small plates) and Tony's favorite is Hugo's (seafood & steakhouse). If you're looking for something more casual, we recommend checking out institutions like Portillo's for Chicago-style hot dogs, or Pequod's for deep-dish. Some other favorites include: Tempesta Market, Lula Cafe, Eleven City Diner, Chef Special Cocktail Bar, Athenian Room
