We’re getting married!

After playing for the Washington Wild Things, Matt stayed with a family that happened to be Faith’s best friend’s family. Two years later and Matt had kept in close touch with the family, especially the mother. One night they were video chatting when the mother’s phone froze. Faith had just walked downstairs and thought she was looking at a picture when she said, “Wow! That guy is a hot hunk of… beef roast?!” (For some background, when Faith sees an attractive guy she tends not to think before she speaks.) Which was then followed by a “Well then say ‘Hi’” from the mother. Later that night, Matt decided to ask the mother if it would be okay to message Faith on instagram to thank her for the compliments and make her day. Little did he know, Faith thinks she’s the funniest person in the world, so all she replied with was “👰🏻‍♀️.” So from then on it became a running joke that when Faith turned 18 she and Matt would get married. It was never anything serious, just a joke about Matt having a “backup plan.” A few months after Faith had turned 18, she and Matt decided to add each other on snapchat. He was only hoping for a few compliments to make his ego bigger, while she just felt bad saying “no.” Neither of them expected what was about to happen. So what started as a joke about a teenage crush turned into something so beautiful, and most importantly, legal!
