Burlington has several parks and beaches along Lake Champlain, including Waterfront Park, Oakledge Park, and North Beach. Bike between beaches along the 8-mile Burlington Greenway or rent a kayak or stand-up paddle from Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center. Rock Point Commons also offers over two miles of hiking and walking trails along the lake shore.
Mount Philo State Park became the first Vermont State Park in 1924. It provides beautiful views of the Lake Champlain Valley and Adirondack Mountains. Visitors can reach the mountain's summit by hiking the 3/4-mile trail or driving up the access road. The park also connects to a network of community trails throughout Charlotte that provide easy hiking and wildlife viewing.
Check out Shelburne Farms or the nearby Shelburne Museum and Shelburne Vineyard. Shelburne is also home to Fiddlehead Brewing Company and the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory.
