There will be a 1.5 hour gap between the ceremony (which ends at 4pm) and the cocktail hour (which starts at 5:30pm). We suggest using that time to check into your hotel and/or take a stroll through Eastern Market or check out the new Detroit Vineyards located adjacent to the Whiskey Factory.
Unfortunately, no :( . While we love to have kiddos around, this event is for adults only. Kids are welcome to come to the ceremony.
The dress code is formal/cocktail attire. That means suits, short and long cocktail dresses, and even fancy jumpsuits are all good. No need for formal black tie wear, unless you want to do it up!
Yes. Parking for the ceremony is located at the Northeast corner of St. Antoine and Larned, in the University of Detroit law school parking lot. The Whiskey Factory has its own parking lot. Be sure to enter off of Maple Street (and not off of Gratiot). Both lots are gated and will have security. The gates will be open for a block of time as guests arrive. If you arrive after the gates are closed, there will be a security guard/operator available to allow entry.
We have a group rate for $159/night at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center. Please see the travel/accommodations section. There are many other hotels to stay at including the new: Shinola hotel, Detroit Foundation Hotel, and the Siren hotel; and the classics: Greektown, Crown Plaza, and Westin Book Cadillac. We do not have rates with these hotels, but all are within close proximity to the Whiskey Factory.
Yes. There will be a shuttle provided at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center that will take guests to and from the Whiskey Factory. For more information about timing of the shuttle, please see the travel and accommodations section of our website.
Probably the most frequently asked of the FAQs! We've had a great time wedding planning, mostly because we've had the opportunity to engage with so many awesome vendors here in Detroit! Best pizza in Detroit (sorry Buddy's!). https://www.supinopizzeria.com/ *Sister Pie: Dessert. If you haven't tried it yet, you will! And you'll instantly know why it's so loved.
