Is this an authentic Indian wedding?

Yes! This is a traditional Telugu Hindu wedding ceremony following age-old customs and rituals. The ceremony will be conducted in Sanskrit with explanations provided where possible.

When is the main ceremony (Muhurtham)?
Answer
The main muhurtham ceremony will last approximately 3 hours followed by an elaborate lunch. You’re welcome to attend the full ceremony or join us at any time before the muhurtham. We recommend arriving by 9 am to make sure you have sufficient time to settle in and bless the couple.

What should I wear for the wedding ceremony?
Answer
Traditional Indian attire is encouraged but not required. For Women: • Saree or lehenga (preferred) • Floor-length dress or formal attire For Men: • Kurta with pajama • Sherwani • Suit or formal wear Bright, festive colors are highly encouraged! 😊 We kindly request guests to avoid wearing plain white or all-black outfits for the main ceremony, as they are traditionally associated with mourning in Indian culture.

How do I get to the hotel from the airport and vice-versa?

Option 1: Rent a car Renting a car for a couple of days may be more cost effective, especially if you plan to explore around Houston. Houston is a large, spread out city, and transportation costs with ride shares can add up quickly if you are moving around frequently. Option 2: Uber or Lyft Using Uber or Lyft is the most convenient option for getting to and from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and the hotel. The drive typically takes about 1 hour, and up to around 2 hours during peak traffic times. Uber also offers a reservation feature where you can enter your flight details so the app can track your arrival and adjust pickup timing if your flight is early or delayed. Promotions may occasionally be available, but discounts are not guaranteed.
