How We Met...you won't believe this!

Online dating worked for us

We met in late-September, 2016 on an online dating app called Tinder. We connected right away! In getting to know each other we found out our families went to Woodward High School and grew up in the same neighborhood and we never met or crossed paths...crazy huh? After a few weeks of talking on the phone, we had our first date on October 7, 2016, and made it official about a week later (neither of us know the exact date). Our second date was on sweetest day and that is when it was clear we had found something really special in one another.

First Date (from Sa-Leemah's perspective)

October 7, 2016

Daniel was such a gentleman even from the first interaction on the tinder app and on the phone. He offered to come down to me and meet me at my favorite restaurant at the time, Cheddars in Colerain Township (in Cincy). He lived in Mason at the time, so it wasn't exactly close for him and I was staying in College Hill. On our first date, we arrived at just about the same time...on time! We sat down to dinner and it just felt so natural but at the same time, I was nervous. I liked him already and wanted things to go well. We had some things in common already and had already established I am an extrovert and he is an introvert. We had the same goals for our career aspirations and we were both even in career transition (or more of a crossroads actually). We stayed about 2 hours and we parted ways. He texted me to make sure I got home safe and that he had a great time. First of all, I don't think I had ever had anyone, other than my circle of friends, check to make sure I made it home. I got to see already he was a complete gentleman. The rest is history....

Proposal...how he asked me on January 1, 2020!

The magical night we became engaged

Our proposal story was so amazing, one of the best nights of our lives. Daniel came to me in early December and asked if we could do something different from our normal New Years Eve plans of going to the casino. I said sure...2019 was a tough year and why not do something different! Apparently, he was planning for months to propose and I had no idea! He made reservations for a romantic dinner at Prima Vista in Price Hill, overlooking the City of Cincinnati. From there, we went to Hard Rock Casino downtown to ring in the new year. Around 12:30a, he asked me if I was ready to go and that he wanted to make a stop on the way home. We ended up in Eden Park where he said he wanted to make some wishes for the new year. We parked at the area of Eden Park that overlooks the Ohio River. He said "Lets make our wishes". I took a minute and made my wishes (one happened to be to get engaged in 2020). I turned around and asked "Are we sharing our wishes". He asked to go first and instead of sharing wishes, he let me know; "Not only is this the first day of 2020 but its the first day of the rest of our lives". Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After crying and losing my mind and hugging him so tight, I almost made him drop the ring lol; I SAID YES!!!! It was so amazing, magical, and incredible; I couldn't imagine a better night!
