The Wedding Website of Samuel Carrington and Sarah Davis
There is a lot to love about Galesburg, but getting here can be a challenge, especially in December. Midwest winters combined with small local airports can make for a frustrating travel experience. If you're coming in from out-of-state, there are four airports "nearby"; all of them have car rentals available, and there is also an option to take the train. Whichever method you choose, if you're coming in from out of state: YOU ARE VERY LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE TRAVEL DELAYS We recommend that you schedule yourself to arrive in Illinois no later than FRIDAY, DECEMBER 27th. Also, Chicago is a magical wonderland at Christmastime - maybe fly in a few days early and spend Christmas in the Windy City, enjoying a broadway show or the Christkindl outdoor market!

Flight

Chicago Midway Airport (MDW)

Midway (MDW) is the safest option in the winter, so if you can fly in there, we recommend it! Airlines are limited, but include Southwest, Delta, and Allegiant. You'll have a 3-hour drive or train ride to Galesburg.

Flight

Chicago O'Hare Airport (ORD)

O'Hare (ORD) is infamous for travel delays, but is a bustling major airport, so your airline options are extensive. This airport is also about 3 hours from Galesburg by car or train.

Flight

Quad Cities International Airport (MLI)

Moline Airport is about 45 minutes away from Galesburg. There are limited airline options with most flying in/out once daily, and flights are regularly cancelled in the winter. If you decide to risk a smaller airport, we'd suggest flying into this one, and renting a car onsite.

Flight

Peoria International Airport (PIA)

Peoria is also about 45 minutes away from Galesburg. Similar to Moline, there are limited airline options with most flying in/out once daily, and flights are regularly cancelled in the winter. If you do fly here, we suggest renting a car onsite.

Train

Amtrak

There is an Amtrak station in downtown Galesburg, which makes it relatively easy to get here from Chicago if you fly into O'Hare or Midway (or if you opt for a cross-country train expedition on your way here). You'll want to have wheels while you're in town, so we suggest also renting a car if you're taking the train - there's an Enterprise right next door!

Rental Car

Enterprise

165 South Seminary Street
Galesburg, IL 61401
 (309) 341-1000

In-town rentals are usually tough to secure, so while this is an option if you take the train in, we strongly suggest making a reservation VERY early!

For all the days along the way
