We first met at an audition for SLO Rep's production of Guys and Dolls in late November 2016. It was Rebecca's first audition for the company and the last in which Zach was on the audition panel as the choreographer. Rebecca was cast, and throughout the rehearsal and production process, a friendship blossomed. In true Zach fashion...Rebecca often found her shoes being stolen as she waited in the greenroom for her next entrance. Let it be known she never missed a cue due to lack of shoe. As the show closed and time continued on, we were able to stay connected through friends from the show and continuing to grow in our friendship with sparks of romance building. By the end of May, it was completely clear that the two of us wanted to be something more than friends and as these things happen, we took that next step. Through the summer as Zach was traveling and directing and Rebecca was working hard, they stayed connected as much as possible. It was in Creede, Colorado, the week of Labor day, that Zach and Rebecca knew they had found the partner they had been waiting for. Rebecca came out to visit the small mountain town and not only opted to stay in Zach's tent on Miners Creek in Mineral County, but embraced the world of Creede and the beauty of the Rio Grande National Forrest. Catching her first fish on a fly line, surviving two visits from a bear in camp, and helping out at Zach's work slinging Salsa for the Salsa Festival, Rebecca had won the hearts of Zach's family and friends, and made it impossible for Zach to ever want to be without her. Upon Zach's return, we decided to head on a European extravaganza creating memories for a lifetime - Including Zach's first trip up the Eiffel Tower and a champagne kiss at the top. Every new destination, created more opportunities to uncover a deeper friendship and love. On October 30th, in their kitchen, as we were settling into living together, Zach proposed, and the next chapter of our lives began.
