In order for this perfect match to meet each other, despite living just one state apart, Ryne and Hannah both had to travel over 5000 miles to cross paths. Our story begins with Hannah, on her very first trip outside of the country, accompanied by her sister Sarah and her cousin Evelyn. Meanwhile, Ryne found himself in London unexpectedly. Ryne was on vacation with his family in Paris, and had an issue with his ticket for his return flight; so Ryne had to spend a day and a night in London before returning to the United States. Neither was expecting to find their husband or wife while on vacation. Different versions of this story have been told to almost everyone, but one detail is usually omitted. On vacation, both Ryne and Hannah had downloaded the dating app Bumble on a whim. Only about an hour after Ryne’s flight from Paris landed in London, he was sitting in an airport restaurant with his sister Kali. A few swipes into Bumble, Ryne came across Hannah and immediately fell in love with her smile. As a male on bumble, you are only given one ‘compliment’ to send to somebody every 24 hours. Ryne used his one compliment on Hannah and said, “You have an amazing smile! I’m also visiting London, how are you enjoying it?” Ever since that conversation started, it has never stopped. Ryne and Hannah racked up some crazy screen time numbers texting nonstop in the coming weeks since matching in London. Then came phone calls and facetime calls. It quickly became apparent that Ryne and Hannah had a very special connection that needed to be pursued further. Just three short weeks after London when both Ryne and Hannah were back in the United States, Ryne made the drive out to San Jacinto, California 300 miles away to meet Hannah face-to-face for the first time. Ryne met Hannah’s parents and sister upon arriving and then the two went to Big Bear for their first date. Over the course of 2023, despite living over 300 miles apart from each other, Ryne and Hannah made seventeen visits to each other, spent 66 days together and traveled over 11,000 miles to be with each other. Today, as we stand on the brink of marriage, we are grateful for the twists and turns that brought us together and excited for the journey that lies ahead.
