If you'd like to rent a car, there are a few things to note. First off, driving around Cabo is very safe and there is plenty to explore. Be aware that Mexico requires rental car insurance and does not recognize U.S. insurance policies. So, even if your credit card covers rental insurance, this doesn't meet Mexico's strict rental policies. Because of this, national car rental options (i.e. Avis, Hertz, National, etc.) look like a good price, but the price doubles or triples upon arrival because of the insurance packages they sell you.
