It all started in the summer of 2012 when Noel and I met as fourth graders at Lincoln Elementary in Hartford, where Noel eventually asked me to marry him. Not long after I started at Lincoln, Noel asked me out, and I said yes. Our first relationship lasted a whopping two days. A year later, in fifth grade, Noel asked me out again. This time, we dated for 11 months at the age of 12. It was the most innocent and genuine kind of young love. Since neither of us had a phone, we spent countless hours messaging each other on Facebook and finding any chance we could to talk. As we moved on to middle school, we remained close friends and spent much of our time together with the same friend group. Eventually, as high school approached, we found ourselves spending time with different circles and talking less often. Then, in November 2015, a mutual friend asked a few different times if the three of us wanted to hang out, and eventually we did. What started as casually reconnecting quickly turned into something more, and from that point on, Noel and I never stopped talking. Looking back, it's funny to think that the boy who asked me out in fourth grade would end up being the person I get to spend the rest of my life with. Almost 11 years later, from the day we started dating in high school, we are so happy and so grateful to celebrate with our family and friends the love story that first began in the summer of 2012.
