How We Met

It all started with a hug and a haunted house…

Depending on who you ask, Rylie and Noah’s story starts a little differently. Rylie swears they met back in elementary school when they lived in the same neighborhood, while Noah insists they didn’t officially meet until a few years later, when they ended up in the same fourth-grade class. Either way, that’s when their friendship really began. By the end of that school year, they were such close friends that they made sure to be each other’s last hug before saying goodbye for summer break. What Noah didn’t know was that over the summer, Rylie decided to skip fifth grade. When school started again and she wasn’t there, he thought she had moved away without saying goodbye and was crushed. Luckily, that wasn’t the case. They found each other again soon after, when Noah would walk to the middle school each afternoon to meet his sister—and Rylie would always be there. Their friendship picked up right where it left off. Fast forward to October 20th during Rylie’s sixth-grade year and Noah’s fifth-grade year. They were at their friend Osha’s birthday party, making their way through a haunted house, when Rylie suddenly asked Noah to be her boyfriend and then ran away. It was a quick, funny moment that became the start of their story. They “dated” all through middle school, playing sports together and growing up side by side. In high school, they got even closer—cheering each other on at games, spending time with each other’s families, and realizing how much they truly enjoyed being together. When college came, they took on long distance like champs. Rylie headed to The College of Idaho, and Noah went to the University of Idaho to play football. They spent weekends visiting each other until Noah transferred to Boise State, where they finally got to live in the same city again. That’s where they learned how to “adult” together and adopted their dog, Koe, who quickly became the center of their world. Now, after years of growing up together—from awkward haunted house proposals to college adventures—they’ve both graduated, started their careers (kind of), and are ready for their next big adventure!
