It all began when my grandparents wanted to take me to a campground that we always went to. We had each gone there seeking some summer fun, floating the river and camping, never expecting to find each other. What started as a chance meeting—just a friendly hello from a safe distance—quickly became something more. Cody's family welcomed me into their own from day one. My grandparents didn't want to float the river so they quickly asked if I wanted to spend the day with them floating the river. We spent that weekend staying away from each other, but about a year later we reconnected and have been together since!
One evening, Cody asked me to go to eat at my favorite restaurant to make sure I got dressed up—just something simple, something we’d done a hundred times before. But this time was different. As we turned down our quiet back road near our house, he pulled over near a tree wrapped in glowing string lights. It looked like something out of a dream. i started bawling knowing exactly what was coming next! As I got closer, I realized the tree was surrounded by photos from our journey together—laughing, traveling, growing, and loving. Each picture was a piece of our story, hanging there gently in the breeze. And then, under those twinkling lights and all the memories we’d made, Cody got down on one knee. He told me he loved me, that every moment had led to this one, and that he wanted to spend forever with me. With a full heart and tears in my eyes, I said yes to the love of my life.
