Matt and Rylee’s relationship started at the Rochester Golf and Country Club (RGCC). At the time, Matt was the bar manager and Rylee was a server. With this, they became good friends and would often close the restaurant together. A lot of times they would have deep conversations, and talk about the meaning behind the songs they liked. Soon after, Matt asked Rylee out on a date. Their first date they were supposed to go go-carting, but Matt's truck broke down and had to be towed. Then, Matt's parents had to come and pick them up off the side of the road. First date, and Rylee already met the parents! Although their first date didn't go as planned, they still went on a second one ;) This time, Matt took Rylee to a heavy metal concert. Rylee thought they were going to Metallica, and mentioned to Matt, "This is a small venue for Metallica, I thought there would be more people here?!" Matt was nervous and said, "Uhh we aren't going to Metallica, we are going to Cane Hill. I was wondering why you were so eager to go with me!" Rylee didn't care, "I'm sure it'll be fun." Rylee ended up liking the experience, and it was only the start of the MANY heavy metal concerts. Now, they have been together for five years! Rylee went through nursing school, and is currently working at Mayo Clinic as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse. Matt left the Country Club and is working as a general manager at the Bleu Duck Kitchen, as well as going through nursing school. When they are not at work or school they spend a lot of time with their two fur-babies (Belle and Nova)! Matt proposed to Rylee in Estes, Colorado on August 19th, 2024 in Rocky National Park. It had rained all day, but right before Matt popped the question the rain stopped and a rainbow appeared. It happened to end right on the dock where Matt wanted to ask Rylee, a sign of forever :).
