It all began back in high school, where we knew each other through mutual friends and ended up in the same first-period art class. Evan insisted on helping with Rylee’s painting project, confidently claiming that watercolor was “much easier” to work with than regular paint (spoiler: it wasn’t). When summer arrived, Rylee asked Evan on their first date. After a quick summer, our relationship became more than a summer fling. As Rylee finished her senior year, Evan headed off to Colorado State University for his freshman year of college. Between classes, weekend visits, and endless FaceTime calls, we made long-distance work. When Rylee joined Evan at CSU the following year, we started a new chapter side by side. College became a place where our relationship really grew—through busy semesters, shared routines, new friendships, and a lot of growing up together. After graduating, we took the next big step and moved in together, building our first home and settling into everyday life as a team. For Rylee’s birthday, we decided to celebrate with a weekend trip to Aspen. On a crisp morning at Maroon Bells, surrounded by the mountains, Evan got down on one knee and asked Rylee to spend forever with him. It was the easiest “yes” ever—and the perfect beginning to our next chapter. And now, we have officially became homeowners! In between home projects and planning the wedding, we love to play golf, shop at homegoods, and hang out with friends.
