This is the video Ryan played for Jacquelyn on their one year anniversary to propose. It is a recap of their first year together, followed by the proposal- using Jack's actual Lego stop motion video!
Ryan and Jacquelyn almost didn't go out that night. Jacquelyn knew that she was being set up by their mutual friend and wasn't really into the idea. Ryan didn't find out until he got to the bar and was mortified, he wasn't prepared or expecting to meet anyone. As the night began, they were polite but cold to each other. Ry pulled his baseball cap down and wouldn't even make eye contact. But then, Jacquelyn ordered one of Ryan's favorite drinks and got his attention. As the night progressed, they couldn't deny the connection between each other. At one point, the group of them were at a rooftop bar and sitting around an open fire. It was then that Ryan and Jacquelyn looked across the fire at each other and had their "moment". The night continued at their friends apartment where Jacquelyn saw Ryan sing karaoke. He chose the song "Bye, Bye, Bye" by N*sync and did all the dance moves. Jacquelyn swooned. They had a nerf gun fight and cupid must have shot them hard because that was the beginning of their beautiful love story.
The night they met, Jacquelyn had left her scarf at their friend's apartment. Rather than contacting her friend about the lost item, she used the opportunity to text Ryan. Now, while it took him a few weeks to actually get the scarf back, they still had their first date that Saturday. Ryan's brother had tickets to the Red Wings game and they invited Jacquelyn. She thought, "perfect, another group event, this will be easy." However, when they arrived at the game, she found out her and Ryan were sitting alone. They were a little uncomfortable being put on the spot again, but that lasted only moments. They had the greatest time together, laughing and talking non-stop and they haven't stopped since!
For their one-year anniversary, Ryan took them to revisit the spot of their first date, and went to the wings game. Although they had talked about marriage already, Jacquelyn was unaware of Ryan's plan that evening. That is, until he started getting antsy and wanted to leave the game early. Jacquelyn was enjoying herself but agreed that it was fine. They went back to her apartment and he told her he had a surprise. He played a slideshow he had made for her recapping their first year together (see above). She cried, she was so overjoyed, but little did she know there was more to the video. Ryan had used her lego stop-motion movies and added a few shots to tell the story of his proposal. He had the ring hidden in one of her lego sets for a week prior. When they got to the end of the video and she realized there was a ring in her lego set, she cried and made Ryan play the video three more times before she was prepared to go get it. When she did, Ryan got down on one knee and asked the question. Which she, of course, replied with an enthusiastic "Yes!".
