On August 28, 2017, Ryder was spending his first night of college with his brand-new friends when one of them FaceTimed a best friend from back home to introduce all of the new people. That was the moment Ryder and Madison met, despite being over 100 miles away from each other. Ryder spent the rest of the call desperately trying to be involved in the conversation to have the chance to talk to Madison again. Finally, the two exchanged Snapchat usernames and, as they say, the rest was history. Ryder and Madison texted, chatted, and called each other constantly. They spent every last dollar in their accounts taking the Concord Coachlines busses to see each other until Madison made the decision to transfer from Bridgewater State University to New England College. They moved in with each other just one semester later and have been inseparable ever since. Due to Madison's sleuthing and inability to be surprised, Ryder popped the question in the middle of their kitchen on November 7, 2021, after a weekend away in Provincetown. In front of the ever-watchful eyes of their dog, Bowie, Ryder got down on one knee and asked Madison to be his wife. They will be celebrating their love on December 9, 2023 in Providence, RI.
