Our Story

Ryan & Claire

Our story began by chance at Indiana University, where we were both chemistry majors looking for friends. We both joined Alpha Chi Sigma and met in passing, but when both of our originally assigned physics lab partners dropped the course, we were paired together! What started as a simple lab partnership quickly grew into a close friendship. Long hours in the lab led to easy conversations, shared laughter, and a natural rhythm of working side by side. We learned how to be friends so that even the most stressful moments (like 8am lab without breakfast) felt lighter together. Somewhere between experiments and exams, it became clear that working together was something we both looked forward to. Once we began dating the following semester we were pretty much inseparable. Thankfully, almost every semester after our physics lab ended we were able to schedule labs and classes to continue working together, while also seeing each other through Alpha Chi Sigma. For the rest of our time at college we were constantly studying, going on hikes, and discovering new restaurants together. Today we live together with our beagle Cobalt in Chicago! We love cooking together, adventuring in the city, going to the Art Institute, and seeing our friends.
