The Ryan(n)s met through the magical world of online dating. Ryann had seen rk95's profile a few times but jocks weren't really her type so while she thought he was handsome, she hadn't reached out. One day Ryan decided to send her a message and because he wasn't sure how to start, he used a CANNED message that the website provided for him. Normally, Ryann would never respond to a canned message but something told her she should. The message that started it all was, "I see we both like coffee and conversation. If we were to meet for coffee, what is something you'd ask me?" You are allowed to judge both of them but, oh well, coffee and conversation worked out pretty well!

They said she could never be surprised--oh, were they wrong! The elaborate plan began with some background intel about when Ryann thought the big question was to be popped. They had a vacation planned to Europe at the end of March and Ryann was pretty confident that Ryan was going to do it then--even going so far as to book a special photographer to capture the moment. However, a clever detour was made when Ryan and Ryann headed down to Lake Geneva to meet with a wedding planner about potential venue. After the meeting, they headed into town to have lunch and visit the Ice Castles--conveniently the last day they were open for the season. Weaving their way around young kids and braving the elements, Ryann was getting very cold and wanted to call it a day and head out. With the ring burning a hole in his pocket, Ryan kept dragging it out, looking for the perfect spot to seal the deal. Just before they left, Ryan led Ryann up to an observation deck overlooking the lake and, after a quick picture, got down on a knee and asked for her hand. Completely stunned, Ryann realized she met her match and the rest is history:)
