Ryann was in her sophomore year at Presbyterian College playing lacrosse, and Kyle had just transferred from Tallahassee Community College to take on his junior year and continue playing baseball. When she first saw Kyle, he was passing through the library while Ryann was studying with a friend who was Kyle's teammate (now groomsman, Jeremiah), and safe to say he caught her eye. She asked who he was, and Jeremiah answered, "Oh, that's KB," followed by a story of how he was a new transfer, but nothing happened. A month goes by, and Ryann sees Kyle again in their cafeteria and tells Jeremiah she thinks he is cute but not to say anything because she was straight out of practice and didn't want Kyle to see her. A week goes by, and Jeremiah finally tells Kyle who this mysterious girl is who thinks he is cute, and Kyle is just as interested. Ryann was smitten, but Kyle knew that she was it for him.

Two and a half years later, in June of 2022, Ryann made a trip down to Florida for a week. Little did she know Kyle had a surprise for her. Before Ryann arrived, Kyle and his sister, Amanda, found the perfect place on Navarre Beach for Kyle to ask Ryann to marry him.
