Question

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony and reception are in the same location. It is on a family friend's property approximately ten minutes up the mountain from town surrounded by the Redwoods.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Please dress semiformal/summer formal. Heels are not recommended. Comfortable shoes are recommended because the venue is mostly gravel and grass.

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Dressing in layers is recommended because the weather can range anywhere from warm to hot. However, the venue can get chilly at night as the area becomes shaded earlier in the day than when in town.

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

There will be signs helping lead the way up the mountain. Phone service is spotty heading up the mountain so very descriptive instructions will be provided closer to the wedding.

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

There will be free parking available on the property.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We do not have hotel blocks, but we did provide some great hotels in the area on the Travel tab. Airbnb is also a great place to look.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Please keep your phones on silent and away during the ceremony. It is an unplugged ceremony. But feel free to take lots of pictures of the reception. Please tag #JohnstonRedwoodWedding with any pictures you post or tag us so we can also enjoy the photo!

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Answer

Since we are planning this California wedding from out of state, both Ryann and Connor are working full time and because Ryann will also be busy with finals, the RSVP deadline will be Saturday April 16th online. Once invitations are sent out, the RSVP tab will become available.

I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What's the best way to let you know?

Answer

When you RSVP, there will be a section where you can tell me about any dietary restrictions or allergies. Dinner will be served buffet style.
