Our story is pretty simple. We met at a bar, but it wouldn't have happened without a few key people and time being on our side. Shortly after my dad passed away, I mentioned to a close friend as we walked to breakfast that I wanted to start saying yes to more things and that included going on more dates and being more intentional about the time I spent with people. She looked at me and said, how ironic! I was at Fat Cat (her local bar) last night and the bartender asked about you after seeing us together last month. That charming bartender was Bo. So, we went into Fat Cat after breakfast (yes, it was the same day! When I decide on a plan, I'm all in). Bo was, rightfully so, startled to see us, but played it cool. I ordered a bloody maria and we all awkwardly made conversation knowing this was a partial set-up. When the bill came, I made the most unlikely move of leaving my number on the bar's comment card letting Bo know I'm interested. He texted me shortly after we left, planned our first date a few days later and here we are now! I love our story. I love the people who played a role in it, including my dad. I'm grateful that Bo patiently waited a month until he saw my friend in the bar to ask about me. I'm grateful I decided that morning I wanted to say yes to things, and I'm extra appreciative of Fat Cat, that bloody maria and the embarrassing comment card.
