Our story

Oklahoma boy and Missouri girl fall in love <3

Ryan and Meg both moved to Memphis, Tennessee in the fall of 2024 to attend a 9-month discipleship program through a local ministry. Their tight-knit group of young adults saw each other at least three times a week, so connections were bound to form. Ryan quickly started liking Meg, especially after a group two-stepping night and a joint birthday party. However, a lack of interest from Meg and a dating restriction until January 1st from their program kept Ryan from initiating a date. When the New Year rolled around, Meg found herself wanting to spend more time around Ryan and even "accidentally" left her water bottle in his car so she had to catch a ride back with him after class one night. Despite Meg's growing interest, she originally planned not to date anyone until after the program ended in May. Ryan knew this but thought, "I might as well just ask, the worst she could say is no." Nevertheless, when Ryan showed up at her door on January 22nd with flowers, and asked her on a date, she said yes after 24 hours of contemplation and encouragement from friends, thinking, "It's just one date, what could happen?" A first date that consisted of Mexican food and mini golf (this is still one of her favorite dates they've been on!) led to many more hours spent talking over dinner, traveling countless miles to visit friends and family all over the country, a mission trip to Ethiopia, and plenty of time spent at the gym together. After about eight months of dating, they realized they could get used to doing life together forever! On December 20th, Ryan planned a very special day retracing some of their most meaningful date spots and ended it with a proposal at the same location they two-stepped on their second date. Following the proposal, a surprise party (for Meg) with all of their Memphis people awaited them. They are beyond grateful that God has brought them together and cannot wait to begin their lives as husband and wife!
