It all started on a dating app where Ryan slid into Shelley's DMs. Little did they know that one message would turn into a phone call that lasted for 8 hours about life, their goals, where they saw themselves in the future, which as you can tell, is being together forever. On that same call, Ryan gathered the courage to ask Shelley out on their first date to boba and Red Robin, where Ryan knew that Shelley was the one. It all came to a head when they ordered the Onion Ring tower and all she wanted was the breading, which meant Ryan got left with the best part, the onion. With their unusual eating habits, Ryan and Shelley knew that they were meant to be. #RyanfoundhisShell
It was a wintery, chilly night under the beautiful holiday lights of Descanso Gardens. The cacophony of colors surrounding every nook and cranny of the gardens, the light displays and sculptures lining every walkway. What seemed like a innocuous date was slowly transforming into a night neither of us would forget. Ryan pretty much having his hand in his pocket all night trying to figure out when the best time would be to pop that question, and Shelley enjoying every section of the garden. As they walked to the furthest part of the gardens, where the trees were the tallest, and the lights the brightest, this section of the garden offered the perfect opportunity. Amongst the canopy of trees lit in their wintery best, Ryan dropped to one knee, surrounded by a few friends, and popped the ultimate question. As Shelley started to realized what happened, she put her hands to her mouth in surprise and ultimately started nodding and held out her hand (which Ryan assumed was a yes, because to this day, he still doesn't know if it was a yes, but hey, you're reading this and you're coming to our wedding).
