Tay and Ry have been best friends since they were three years old. We were originally part of a playgroup as toddlers, where we spent hours playing house, playing pirate themed computer games, and jumping on the trampoline together for hours. After some time apart during elementary school, we reconnected in middle school when Ry switched schools halfway through the year. Ry walked into the classroom that first day, spotted Taylor immediately, and she was all he could talk about that night when he came home. Best friends all through middle school and high school, we went different directions for college; Tay to Tucson and UofA, and Ry to Hastings College in Nebraska and then Texas A&M. In spite of the distance, we stayed in touch through holidays and vacations back to Phoenix. During these Covid years, both of us moved back to Phoenix and became practically inseparable. Game nights, Dungeons and Dragons quests, Renaissance Faires, Pride events, and movie marathons were just a few of the ways we became closer during this time. Two members of our wedding party, Carina and Fae Montoya, were a huge part of our adventuring party during these few years. As we grew closer and talked about what we wanted out of life, we realized that all we really needed was each other. We started "officially" dating in 2022 at a Halloween party, and haven't looked back. Knowing immediately that this was meant to be, Ry started ring shopping six months later, and proposed in October of 2023. We think Taylor's father, Bryon, summed it up perfectly upon hearing of our engagement: "Well its about time the two of you figured out what the rest of us have known since you were seven!"
