FAQs

You got questions… we’ve got answers! Find answers to common questions about our big day below, and if you have any other questions not covered here, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly.
Question

Can I bring a date/plus one?

Answer

To ensure we can accommodate all guests comfortably within the venue's capacity, we ask that only invited guests attend our wedding. If you received a plus one, your invitation will be made out to "(Your Name) & Guest," and they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Please keep in mind we will have organized seating for the reception, and cannot accommodate unaccounted guests the day of. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

As much as we love your children, we regretfully cannot accommodate everyone's children. If we are unable to invite your children, we hope that you will see this as an opportunity to have a night for yourselves and enjoy the party with us! For families with invited children, your invitation will be made out to "The ___ Family" or “___ & Family”, and they will appear under your name when you RSVP.

Question

What should I do if I cannot make it?

Answer

You will definitely be missed! If you cannot attend our wedding, please indicate "Will Not Attend" on your RSVP by the RSVP deadline date, so we can plan accordingly. If you have already RSVP'd "Will Attend" but find that you will not make it, please notify us as soon as you are aware.

Question

What happens if I miss the RSVP deadline?

Answer

We kindly ask that you RSVP no later than October 4, 2025. We must give our final numbers to our venue and caterer in a timely manner. If we haven't received your RSVP by the specified date we will assume you are not coming and will mark you down as 'Will Not Attend'. We will miss you dearly at our wedding; however, we will not be able to accommodate late RSVPs.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask that our guests join us in formal attire to help make the evening feel special. For example, men might wear a dark suit and women may choose a floor-length gown or a dressy midi dress. Feel free to have fun with color and pattern! Please note that casual attire such as jeans or everyday wear is not suitable for the event.

Question

Will the wedding take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place indoors. The cocktail hour will take place outdoors. The reception will take place indoors, with glass doors that also open space to an outdoor patio.

Question

What can I do in between the ceremony and cocktail hour?

Answer

After the ceremony ends at 4:00 PM at San Fernando Cathedral, guests will have a one-hour break before cocktail hour begins at 5:00 PM at the San Antonio Botanical Garden (Greehey Lawn). If you'd like to head to the garden early, you're welcome to explore the beautiful grounds before the venue opens! Just check in at the main kiosk and let them know you're here for Ryan & Clarissa's wedding. The garden closes to the public at 5:00 PM, and guests will be permitted to enter the reserved event space (Greehey Lawn and Betty Kelso Center) beginning at that time. We hope this gives you a chance to enjoy the scenery, snap a few photos, and ease into the celebration!

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

Ceremony – San Fernando Cathedral: There is no reserved parking at the Cathedral, but several public parking options are just a 1–3 minute walk away: • City Tower Garage: 117 W Commerce St, San Antonio, TX 78205 • Rand Garage: 129 Soledad St, San Antonio, TX 78205 • Main Street Lot: 200 N Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205 Reception – San Antonio Botanical Garden: Guests may park in the lot directly in front of the Betty Kelso Center, Lot C. This lot offers free parking and has a designated entrance nearby for wedding guests. Tip: Uber or Lyft are also great options for getting to and from both venues with ease!

Question

Where should I enter for the reception at the San Antonio Botanical Garden?

Answer

To make your arrival easy, please enter through the Betty Kelso Center, not the main Botanical Garden entrance. You can search "Betty Kelso Center" in any maps app for the most direct route. Guests will park in Lot C, then follow the mulch pathways up to the venue, where you'll see a large stone staircase leading to the entrance. By 5 PM, the main garden kiosk will be closed. We'll also have signage to help guide you once you're on-site.

Question

Can I leave my car overnight at the venue?

Answer

If you decide to take a Lyft/Uber home, vehicles can be left overnight at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. Please be sure to communicate with us that day so we can let overnight security know what specific vehicles, so they are not towed.
