2014 - While managing a Papa John's in Radford, VA, Ryan came in to find a new delivery driver named Virginia. The image of the first time he saw her sitting in the office and working on her training modules is burned into his memory. It's a good thing that she hadn't yet been given a Papa John's uniform because no one looks good in a Papa John's uniform... They decided to get to know each other and made their relationship official on December 17th. They became partners in tackling all the challenges that finishing up a college degree and finding work brings. 2016 - Ryan's radio job sent him and Virginia on a free trip to cover Bonnaroo for the station. He was elated to be given the opportunity as he always loved adventures (and Tame Impala was playing that year). On the drive home, he looked over at Virginia in the passenger seat and knew that she would be his adventure buddy for the rest of his life. Little did she know that meant she'd be dragged to cities, concerts, theme parks, and more all over the country. Two weeks later, Ryan moved to Nashville, TN in pursuit of a job in the music industry and Virginia had to stay in Radford to finish up her master's degree. Six grueling months of grad school later, she moved to Tennessee to be together again with Ryan. In that time, their love only grew stronger while they developed a mini-family with their two incredible dogs, Ripley and Deckard. 2018 - Ryan brought Virginia to a gas station parking lot in the middle of nowhere. She thought to herself, "is this how it all ends?" Thankfully, Ryan didn't have macabre intentions, instead romantic ones. Virginia was relieved to see that this was the meeting checkpoint for a hot air balloon ride company. Surprise! As they floated over the cows of Franklin, TN he grabbed a box from his bag, did not get on one knee for obvious logistical reasons, and proposed marriage.
